Frequently Asked Questions
The questions families and optometrists ask us most. If yours isn't here, contact us or reach out to your participating provider.
Getting Started
Do I need a doctor to use SuccessfulSight™?
Yes. SuccessfulSight™ is available only through a participating optometrist, who evaluates the patient, prescribes the program, and follows progress locally. See why clinical oversight matters in vision therapy.
How do I find a participating provider?
Submit your ZIP code and patient age and we'll notify you when a participating provider is available in your area.
Is SuccessfulSight™ just home exercises?
No. SuccessfulSight™ is a full virtual vision therapy program that combines guided digital activities, hands-on real-space tasks, an equipment kit, therapist support, and monitored progression. (See: Virtual Vision Therapy vs Doing Home Exercises on Your Own.)
Is this only for children?
SuccessfulSight™ is designed for ages 6 and up, including children, teens, and adults.
The Program and What's Included
What device do I need?
SuccessfulSight™ is completed on iPad and is designed specifically for iOS. Current recommendation is iPad (11th generation or newer) running iOS 18.4 or later.
Does the program include equipment?
Yes. The program includes the equipment needed to complete therapy activities at home.
Can someone help if we have questions?
Yes. Families have access to therapist messaging support, scheduled virtual check-ins, and optional one-on-one virtual sessions when needed.
Will the program adapt as the patient improves?
Yes. Starting point and progression are individualized, and advancement through the program is guided by performance.
How long does the program take?
Program length depends on the patient. Your prescribing optometrist will give you a realistic estimate based on the evaluation.
What visual skills does the program work on?
SuccessfulSight™ is designed to support a wide range of visual skill areas, including binocular vision and eye teaming, tracking, focusing, visual-motor integration, visual processing, and reading efficiency. See all 20 skill areas the program addresses.
Cost and Payment
How much does SuccessfulSight™ cost?
SuccessfulSight™ has two separate fees: evaluation and follow-up visits billed directly by your optometrist (varies by provider), and a flat $2,400 SuccessfulSight™ program fee paid to us for 6 months of access, equipment, and therapist support. See the full cost breakdown.
Is SuccessfulSight™ billed through insurance?
No. SuccessfulSight™ is cash-pay and the program fee is not billed through insurance. Your optometrist's evaluation and follow-up visits may be partly covered by vision or medical insurance, depending on your plan — ask your provider directly.
Do you accept HSA, FSA, or CareCredit?
Yes. We accept all major credit cards, HSA and FSA cards, and CareCredit. Many families use HSA/FSA funds toward the program fee since it is a prescribed vision therapy program.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. The $2,400 program fee can be paid in 5 installments — an $800 deposit before equipment ships, then 4 monthly payments of $400. Pay in full upfront and save 5% ($2,280 total).
Is there a refund if it's not the right fit?
Yes. SuccessfulSight™ offers a two-week full-refund trial, provided all loaned equipment is returned in good condition. We also offer a money-back guarantee of improvement when the program is followed as prescribed. See guarantee details.
Is there a discount for siblings?
Yes. When two siblings complete the program at the same time, the second sibling receives 50% off the program fee. They must overlap — not run back-to-back — to qualify.
Clinical Care and Your Provider
Is it a replacement for all in-office care?
SuccessfulSight™ is designed to deliver the same core therapy experience virtually, while local provider follow-up remains an important part of care.
Who is responsible for clinical decisions?
Your participating optometrist. They evaluate the patient, prescribe the program, monitor progress, and make any clinical decisions about continuing, modifying, or concluding care.
Is SuccessfulSight™ FDA approved?
No. SuccessfulSight™ is a structured vision therapy program intended for use under the supervision of qualified eye care professionals. It is not an FDA-cleared medical device.
What happens if we decide to stop?
Your prescribing optometrist can help you decide whether to pause, adjust, or stop the program. Your provider relationship and any follow-up care stay with your local office.
Privacy and Security
Is patient data kept private?
Yes. SuccessfulSight™ is built on HIPAA-compliant infrastructure with encryption, access controls, and audit logs. Full detail on the security page.
Who can see my child's progress data?
Your prescribing optometrist, the SuccessfulSight™ therapy team supporting your program, and any household members you authorize as part of the patient's account.
Can we get a copy of our progress records?
Yes. Progress reports can be shared with your provider for your medical record and can be exported for your personal records at any time.
For Optometrists
I'm an optometrist — how do I offer this in my practice?
The For Providers page explains the full provider model, what's included, and how to become a participating provider.
Do I need a full VT clinic to prescribe SuccessfulSight™?
No. SuccessfulSight™ is designed to help participating optometrists offer a complete virtual VT program without building a full in-office therapy clinic.
